Toujours Winter 09

The Morrison 'Toujours' collection, meaning 'always' in French, is a true reflection of the brand, which delivers Australian comfort, quality and style mixed with a touch of French chic.

With the majority of the collection being made on Australian shores, the collection offers the customer raw yet defined styles in warm winter tones that remain neutral and understated.

Hints of European glamour shine through in pieces such as the gun metal 'Darcy' grain leather bomber jacket; while soft blouses and skirts are made from fabrics hand chosen seasonally from French and Italian mills.

Natural fabrics in an organic colour palate consisting of opal, chocolate, pearl, elephant and clay make the collection easy and wearable season to season.

Exclusive Jewellery from France and accessories from every corner of the globe make Morrison the perfect place to find timeless treasures.

Morrison is available at Morrison stores and selected boutiques nationally

Chadstone

The 5th Morrison concept store opened in Melbourne's shopping capital on 15th March, 2008. "This store is like no other - It's like stepping back to your childhood, entering a world of wonder and mystery" says Richard.

Inside the Melbourne boutique hangs a centre piece of ceramic light, clustered together to fill the room with ambience. Underfoot, limed European oak floorboards supporting recycled timber furniture, some of which was made from an old jetty, bringing a very 'enchanted' feel to the store.

"You will know it is a Morrison store as soon as you walk in. It will feel like somewhere you remember, you can expect an organic touch" Kylie claims. With craftsmen (who have worked on Elton John and Mick Jagger's homes in the UK) being flown over from WA to ensure the first Melbourne boutique is unique to its siblings, Morrison is a must-see at Chadstone.

Best Fashion Retailer under 20 Stores

From humble beginnings in Fremantle fashion label Morrison has quickly established itself as a directional front runner in Australian fashion by adding another award to their stylish collection at the 2008 Ragtrader TNT Fashion Retailer of the Year Awards last night.

Talented duo Kylie Radford and Richard Poulson overcome the competition which included Incu and Cactus Jam to take out "Best Fashion Retailer under 20 Stores" at the exclusive cocktail event held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney.

"It was certainly unexpected, especially when you consider the talented people that we were up against. We are humbled by the experience and look forward to achieving even greater success in the future" explains Poulson.

With over 150 wholesale accounts and six stores across the country, 2008 has seen Morrison expand to Melbourne, joining the cream of Australian design talent at Chadstone Shopping Centre. With plans to expand further nationally and internationally, Morrison is proving the recent retail downturn wrong, as they approach an annual turnover of $15 million a year.

Kylie's natural talent in design forms the core of the successful Morrison venture, perfectly complemented by Richard's background in advertising, marketing and business management. With courage, passion and an entrepreneurial spirit, Morrison has gone from strength to strength with a bright and positive future ahead.

The Ernst and Young 'Entrepreneur of the Year'

Winning the WA Designer of the Year Award in 2007 illustrated the rise of fashion label Morrison from its modest Fremantle beginnings, to a directional front runner of Australian fashion.

Kylie Radford and Richard Poulson the duo behind Morrison recently secured another accolade - the Ernst and Young 'Entrepreneur of the Year' award for the western region; an extraordinary achievement for the six year old business.

"It was certainly unexpected, especially when you consider the talented people that we were up against. We are humbled by the experience and look forward to the next phase of the award process in Sydney." Richard explains.

Death of a Friend

Dear Friends,

I am very sad to have to communicate that Morrison passed away yesterday at home in his bed. After successfully beating cancer in August, his cancer returned in September. He was such a fighter and really tried hard to beat it once again. Morrison was 12 years old.

Kylie and I brought him home when we were only 22, so he has been part of our family for a third of our lives. He was no ordinary dog... he came everywhere with us... to friends BBQs (invited or not), shops, restaurants, boat trips, beach (his favourite place in the world) and of course work. Every day of his life he was with people he loved and even if he barked at you each time he saw you, he always befriended our friends. The greatest guard dog that I have ever met... so protective with a “big dog” bark but he never never bit anyone.

An unbelievable Model... so regal...

We will be writing Morrison story in its entirety over the next little while and invite you all to email your experiences with this amazing dog, which will be included in his “story”.

Missing his adorable gaze .......

Rich & Kyles
